Men’s Shed

The Men’s Shed was established in Fitzroy Crossing in 2008. The facility was borne out of community consultation to develop a space where men can go to do positive things with their lives and re-engage with the community. Through the Men’s Shed, the Fitzroy Valley community can access literacy/numeracy programs, positive parenting support and specified mining industry training for employment in the field.

By the end of 2010, a total of 25 local men have been trained through the facility going onto fulltime employment with engineering and infrastructure management provider Downer Edi.
